12" Arc Ruler - Parabolic Curves

Using the 12 inch arc ruler from the Westalee Sampler Set, Mary will teach us how to create parabolic curves for quilting.  If you have never used rulers for quilting before, this is a great class to get a taste for it.  Mary Hyatt is a certified Westalee Quilting Ruler Instructor and never ceases to amaze us with the things she can do!  If you have taken her beginning ruler class, this will be a great addition to the things you learned there.

For class you will need 1 or 2 fat quarter sandwiches. Mary highly recommends that the top layer of your sandwich be a pastel or light color fabric so that you can see what you are doing. She warns to not use white fabric as it will be difficult to see the ruler markings. You can use any color or fabric design for the bottom layer.

You will also need the correct ruler foot for your sewing machine (high shank, mid shank, low shank) along with the 12 inch arc ruler. Please bring good quality thread. Mary recommends polyester but a good quality cotton will be okay too. If you are new to ruler quilting and do not have the 12 inch arc ruler, Mary will have some available in class for you to use. If you are unsure what foot your machine uses, please feel free to call the store and we can help you find out!
