Basic Sewing T 4:30 Beginning Sewing for Kids and Teens

This individualized class covers all levels from Level 1, absolute beginner
(5 lessons), and following a progressive curriculum through Level 6, advanced sewing. Students have flexibility to choose fabrics and projects within guidelines. Start anytime. Each level takes four to six weekly lessons. Students begin with a skills assessment and move through levels at their own pace.
Level 1: Learn about the sewing machine and practice on paper and fabric. Learn to
sew seams and hems, learn about fabrics, and learn pressing skills. We will make a pilowcase, a quilted soft shape, a tote bag and a pair of shorts or pants.
Levels 2-6 build on previous skills. See instructor for projects and supply lists.

Requirements:Sewing machine in good repair with extra bobbins; Size 12/80 universal needles; Good scissors; Pins with large heads in pin cusion or magnet; Measuring tape; Seam ripper; 6” Seam gauge; Fabric and thread according to project and skill level.
