Learn the parts of a sewing machine and how they work, then learn to use the machine as we first practice on paper, advance to fabric samples, and then we will make a pillowcase to learn about hems and seams. We will move on to quilted soft shapes (choose a heart or a star), a simple tote bag, and a pair of shorts. Build skills and confidence as each item is sewn. Cotton fabrics will be easiest to work with, but a slightly heavier fabric will work for the tote bag. Students must take the camp in order to be in the weekly kids classes taught by Tamra.
